KSOP FM’s first broadcast day was December 10, 1964.  Founder Henry Hilton was told that FM was a flash in the pan and would never last, especially playing country music.  The “countrypolitan” format was broadcast for a couple of weeks at which time Henry made the switch to full on country, simulcasting with AM 1370.  Z104 is still going strong as a market leader playing Contemporary Country Music.  KSOP-FM, Z104, added HD capabilities in November of 2017.
